Since Hong Kong's return to China in 1997, the number of marriages between people in Hong Kongers and on the mainland has been on the rise.

Cross-border marriages have somewhat helped ease Hong Kong's gender imbalance, and reflect the increasingly closer exchanges between Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland, according to experts. Take a look at the infographic below.
