Spring Bud Program Awarded "China Charity Promoter"

The Spring Bud Program has won the title of "China Charity Promoter". The program was awarded at the 2011 China Charity Annual Meeting on January 8, supported by the Ministry of Civil Affairs and launched by the China Charity & Donation Information Center.

Present at the annual meeting were Secretary General of the China Children and Teenagers' Fund Chen Xiaoxia and the program beneficiary representatives --- Beijing village official Shi Lili and Spring Bud program participant Yang Lan from Sichuan Province.

In the 22 years since its implementation, the Spring Bud Program, under the China Children and Teenagers Fund, has adjusted funding priorities according to social needs and improved project processes to the benefit of thousands of female students. The program aims to protect girls' education rights and promote social equality. It has since become one of the most successful models in promoting girls' education development.

The annual meeting also saw the launch of a new campaign to raise charity organization transparency, involving a total of 112 organizations.
